IB Thesis Statement Branching Scenario: Interactive Learning Resource

Project: An interactive branching scenario that walks IB MYP sophomores through building a thesis statement about Dorothy Waugh’s 1934 PSA poster “Pure or Polluted?” Students choose a theme and an IB concept lens, then select and refine two authorial devices to support their argument. It is the Module 2 mini assignment in Exploring IB-Thought through Text.

My role: I storyboarded the branching paths, wrote the feedback for each choice, and built the activity in Genially, which I chose for its branching navigation and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility support. I then reviewed it against my QA checklist.

Outcome: Mismatched or incorrect choices reroute students with targeted feedback explaining why, while the final device descriptors stay open so students make their own interpretive choices. Try the activity below.
